Trading on the Road

Take Your Trading to the next level

Your Solution:

Portable USB Monitors

Working on a Mobile Day Trading Station wherever you find an Internet connection and an outlet is probably the most beautiful thing (Day) Trading has to offer.
Besides being your own boss and working in your boxers that is.

However, if you already decided to go with a Laptop as your main computer to run your Multi-Monitor Desktop Trading Station at home. You are pretty much good to go already. Although you might soon run into trouble when you run out of that precious monitor space to place all your Trading Software.

That is really a thing and to find out these exist really changed my game. They are thin, lightweight and powered by one of your computers USB-ports. I have two of them I carry with me when on the road.

The Asus Zenscreen

  • Newest Model
  • 15.6" Full HD IPS Screen 1920 x 1080
  • 1.7 lbs light and 0.3 Inches Slim
  • 5ms Refresh Rate
  • USB Type-C
  • Glossy Display
  • More Expensive
  • Brightness
  • Adapter To Classic USB

The Asus MB169B+

  • Old Model
  • 15.6" Full HD IPS Screen 1920 x 1080
  • 1.7 lbs light and 0.3 Inches Slim
  • 14ms Refresh Rate
  • USB 3.0
  • Matte Display
  • Cheaper
  • Brightness

Final Thoughts

Both screens feel like they could be a little brighter. I run both of them with the brightness set to 100% and when comparing both screens, the Asus MB169B+ still appears a little darker.

However, I don’t want to miss them. It is a small downside to the additional screen space they offer.

Both work well, set up fast and easily install. If you are allergic to screen reflections, I recommend you go with the Asus MB169B+.

Hit me up if you want to know more or have further questions. I’ll update if I ever run into any issues.

useful adapters

(ACTIVE) USB-HUB

Active USB-Hubs have their own power supply compared to ordinary USB-Hubs that use the power supplied by your computer’s USB-port.

The portable USB-Monitors mentioned above, are both powered by your computer’s USB-port.

One single USB-port your computer offers, does not supply enough power to run more than one USB-Monitor attached to an ordinary USB-Hub.

Therefore it is very important to get an active USB-Hub.

Tablet Stand

This is a very convenient and foldable stand to use with the Portable Monitor MB169B+ or whatever you need a mount for when travelling.

It is lightweight and very compact.

The cases that are included with the Portable Monitors are imho too bulky and take up too much room on the desk.

When looking for an alternative I found this little gadget. So far I am happy and found many uses beyond their initial purpose.
